The old hard disk has had its biscuit. I did check that my recovery disks worked with the original harddrive installed – at least to the extent of getting the first menu up.

Hence my GB probably won’t work. Your recovery discs fail to recognise the new drive because the HP recovery program probably mapped your old hardrive’s size and addresses in the recovery discs As simple as that. I don’t what they’re doing right now.

Then put it back in. Pop the drive out. Why is it that it does not recognize it.

I’m willing to buy the discs if I know they will work, but I’m reluctant to shell out some more bucks for nothing if they have some artificial limitation built in. I dont have expereince with this hardd im a pretty capable person generaly and good with fixing things If you have a question create a new topic by clicking here and select the appropriate board. They’ll probably send you a new set. Can I replace E screen with a screen from E? Do you already have hwrd account? And if so is there any way to do this so that i dont lose all that?
